3rd Annual Iowa-Midwest Bichon Bash
Hi Bash Goers,
While the weather gave us pause for concern, it turned out to be a pretty good day for a Bichon Bash. The temperatures were mild, no hot, bright sun, and the rain held off until after the event. We got everything packed up and we were pulling up the last road sign when the rain started about 4:20pm. Perfect!!
Our sincere thanks to all that attended and made it such a great social and educational event. We heard lots of information sharing, owners comparing notes on proper diets, allergy remedies, and general behavioral issues. Lots of raffle tickets were sold and a great deal of merchandise was seen leaving the boutique. As usual, funds will be used to help pay vet bills for Bichons around the country. So many are in need. Thanks for your generous support of the event.
And a special thanks to the folks at Rover's Ranch for allowing us to invade their space. Darcy Emehiser did a great job of explaining animal behaviors and training methods and quite a number of you have indicated a desire to get in on Bichon ONLY obedience classes with Darcy. If you didn't sign up and still have an interest, contact Carole Phillips at 278-9606 in Des Moines. She can get you on the list. Also a thanks to Darcy and Lin Nibbelink (co-owners of Rover's Ranch) for their great support of the Bichon Bash for the last three years. They have a great facility to help with socializing your dogs and giving them off leash exercise. Consider getting a membership and using the park often. Check them out at www.RoversRanch.com or call them at 515-967-6768.
If you didn't leave behind a comments card about the bash, we'd sure like to hear from you. You can mail it to Bichon Bash, 10050 NE University Ave., Runnells, IA 50237.
Below this text you should find a photo of the 2006 Bash. Those with PC's can place your cursor over the photo below or the group photo on the web page and click your RIGHT mouse button. Select "Save Picture as..." and save it to an area of your desktop where you can find it again, such as in My Documents or My Pictures. Give it an easy to remember name when you save it. For MAC users, I don't know how you copy web photos since you don't have a right-hand mouse button.
Thanks again for your generous support of this 2006 Bichon Bash event.
